WHAT AND WHOweb2018 IMG 0836

Any person willing to put their Christian faith into action by taking a week to unselfishly serve people in need can attend C.E. Mission Weeks. People the age of 13 and up are invited to join others in helping people recover from natural disasters and/or are living in poverty. (Anyone under age 14 are not permitted to use electric power tools.) By helping the people you will help to extend their funds to purchase more building materials, be the hands and feet of God, and share your faith through good deeds, all while being with friends and others from your church.

WHERE

We plan to continue our domestic poverty relief outreach in West Virginia and North Carolina, along with adding a NEW location in New Castle PA (near Pittsburgh). An international service option is also available to Merida, Mexico to continue helping a local church construct a new building. We are also planning to do a VBS style outreach to the community where the church is being built.

HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT

C.E. Mission Weeks are different from other work camp ministries in various ways, such as:

Evangelical
C.E. Mission Weeks are evangelically based. Adherence to the truth of scripture, applying it to one's life and sharing God with people is an underlying facet of each week.

Work with your group
Groups are not split up during a week of C.E. Mission Weeks Ministry. We intentionally keep your group together for various reasons:

  1. As the leader, you know your group the best
  2. You, as the leader, know the skill level each person contains
  3. If there is a certain spiritual or group emphasis to be made or worked on during the week, this allows a group leader to do so
  4. Allows the group leader to develop leadership skills in the group in the many aspects of the week
  5. Most importantly ~ building relationships among your group as you build relationships with others, offering a relationally based week of ministry

web2018 20160713 120911Develop Leadership Skills
It is the desire of C.E. Mission Weeks to develop leadership skills within teens and young adults. During the week a leader can direct and develop leadership skills in such ways as leading groups during devotional times, overseeing the loading and unloading of coolers, making sure people remain hydrated, or even checking to see if people need sun screen lotion. A list of ways a group leader can do so is provided after you register.

Variety of Work
All types of work are assigned during a week of C.E. Mission Weeks depending on the abilities of those in a group. Each person is to fill out a Skills Inventory Sheet which provides our Work Director with information on people's knowledge and abilities. Jobs are then assigned according to that information. This allows for teens to learn the use of a variety of equipment plus increase their knowledge about construction and home repair.

Limited Number Attending per week
We strive to maintain a limited number of people attending each week of C.E. Mission Weeks Ministry to give a personal and relational feel to the week. A maximum of 150 to 200 people per week is planned. Because of keeping each week's number of people limited, groups are encouraged to reserve their week as early as possible.
